On June 11, 2026, the 30th World Semiconductor Council (WSC) Meeting was held in Geneva, Switzerland. Li Zheng, CEO of JCET Group and Chair of the China WSC delegation, attended the meeting and delivered remarks. Together with representatives from major global semiconductor industry regions, participants engaged in in-depth discussions on key topics including global industry collaboration, supply chain resilience, and the future development of the industry.

Coinciding with the 30th anniversary of the World Semiconductor Council, this year's meeting brought together senior executives from leading semiconductor companies, representatives from industry associations, technical experts, and government officials from major semiconductor regions. As an important multilateral mechanism for the global semiconductor industry, the WSC provides a professional, constructive, and trusted platform for dialogue between industry stakeholders and policymakers, contributing to open collaboration and the long-term, stable development of the global semiconductor ecosystem.

In his remarks, Mr. Li Zheng noted that one of the most significant achievements of the semiconductor industry over the past three decades has been the establishment of a highly specialized and deeply interconnected global ecosystem. He emphasized that the industry is now entering a new phase of transformation. Driven by emerging applications such as artificial intelligence, high-performance computing, and automotive electronics, semiconductor innovation is evolving from individual technology breakthroughs to system-level collaboration, making stronger cooperation, greater efficiency, and enhanced resilience across the value chain increasingly important.

Mr. Li Zheng stressed that truly resilient supply chains are built on specialization, trusted partnerships, and predictable rules. “The global semiconductor industry needs stronger bridges, not higher barriers,” he said. He added that the WSC plays a unique role in fostering professional, rational, and constructive dialogue among global stakeholders.

During the meeting, the China delegation emphasized that continued progress in semiconductor technologies will be increasingly vital to the advancement of artificial intelligence, green energy, and digital infrastructure in the decade ahead. The delegation encouraged the WSC to continue its role as a bridge for global engagement, fostering openness, trust, specialization, and collaboration to help build a more resilient, innovative, and inclusive global semiconductor ecosystem.
